European Travel Authorization

The European Travel Authorization, known as ETIAS, European Travel Information and Authorization System will be up and running by 2024. One more small delay as it was scheduled by November 2023. The European Travel Authorization will be necessary to enter 30 countries that are part of the Schengen treaty commonly known as the Schengen Space, including Croatia, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Romania.
Nationals of 59 countries, up to now, will have to fill up the ETIAS form and have it approved before they can board a plane with a final destination within the Schengen Space, and the airlines will make sure this European Travel Authorization is correct in order to be able to take your seat. In the form it is mandatory to show the country that is going to be visited and an address where to be located in case authorities need to get in contact, also an emergency number will be required.
The European Travel Authorization will not need to be printed. Once it is OK and approved, it will be enough to have open and ready in your device of preference, phone tablet, laptop etc. All the information that the border authorities need to have, is already in the system through our approved application, and they have access to it at any time introducing our passport number. This is very convenient specially when travelling since it is a one thing we do not need to care about.
These are the organisms that are involved during the process of our European Travel Authorization application request:
- A Central System to process the requests.
- A National Uniform Interface in each member State that connects with the Central System and with the national infrastructures.
- A secure Communication Infrastructure between the Central System and the National Uniform Interface.
- Various services such as email and account opening, as well as a number of tools such as verification and consent to retain information beyond the normal period.
All these organizations will ensure that our application goes through the appropriate filters and takes the correct course until its approval.
