Do I need to have travel arragements in order to apply for ETIAS – SEIAV?

Among all the questions that may arise regarding the requirement to submit an ETIAS – SEIAV application, one of them is quite recurrent, and that is to know when is the best time to submit our application. Do we have to have all our plans closed such as dates, hotel, destination?
And the answer is… NO, you don’t need to have your travel confirmed to apply for ETIAS. The ETIAS authorization is designed to be obtained before you have definite travel plans. When applying for ETIAS, you will not be asked for detailed information about your specific travel itinerary, just personal details, passport details, and to answer some security questions. You will need to have your passport valid for at least three months from the date of return to your home country.
The main purpose of ETIAS is to perform a security pre-check on travelers before they arrive in Europe. Therefore, you can apply for ETIAS in advance and use the authorization for multiple trips within its validity period, which is three years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. This allows you to plan your future travel with the assurance that you already have the required travel authorization.
With the imminent implementation of this requirement, it is natural that all kinds of doubts will arise at first, and we will be clearing them up little by little, in each and every one of our articles.
