Today is Thanksgiving Day, celebrated mainly in the United States and Canada. This celebration has its origins in the harvest celebrations of the first English settlers (Pilgrims) and indigenous peoples in the 17th century. In the US, it is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November, and in Canada on the second Monday of October.

It is a wonderful occasion for a big celebration and family dinner that includes roast turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, turkey stuffing, and pumpkin pie.
