What do the ETIAS form and October 2025 have in common? Very simple, in October of this year the EES System starts rolling in all airports in the Schengen area, which is the system where all the information that is presented in the ETIAS – SEIAV form, and that the authorities of the Schengen country you wish to visit, will consult for their approval to travel.

Advancing in this step is of vital importance as it means that the foundations that support the ETIAS – SEIAV form will finally begin to take their first steps, and starting in 2026 will give the final push for its definitive implementation. It is very important that by October of this year, the EES System will be fully operational at every Schengen border entry airport. Spain is already prepared, as well as many other countries, but it is normal that failures and problems arise, especially in a project of this category in which up to 30 countries are involved.

Problems will be identified and solved in the months that follow October 2025, and what is definite is that there is no turning back. The world is moving towards more security and control, not less.
