The EES online tool

EES Entry/Exit system has become the most importat part of the ETIAS travel authorization project, this is for sure. The entire implementation relays on this crucial system that has to be completely up an running in every member State in order for ETIAS to arrive. This is the reason why the EU is yet waiting to lauch the whole project, to make sure that EES system works perfectly well in each point of entry and, once in place make available a very useful tool: the EES online tool.

What is the EES online tool? this is a tool where you will be able to consult whether your entry (to Schengen space) is permitted: “OK” or “not OK”, as well as the number of days that you are still allowed to stay on the territory of the European countries using the EES. Although if the system is not working for any reason you can ask the external border officers to get the information for you. In any case you will have to provide the following:

  • The European country using EES that you wish to visit or are visiting.
  • your travel document including the typing of the three-letter country code i.e. (ESP – Spain) and the passport number.

Additionally, depending on your particular situation you would be able to consult the following:

  • if you intend to travel to Europe in the future to a country using EES, you will be able to consult how low you would be allowed to stay providing the arrival date.
  • if you are already in an European country using EES you must provide your date of departure from that country.
  • and finally if you intend to travel in the future to a country using EES and you want to find out how many days you got left after you leave, you must provide your arrival and departure dates.

You will be able to access the EES online tool using this link only when EES becomes operational, as well as using the kiosks that there will be installed at some external borders, so that you can have access to all the information that you require associated to your personal identification.
